The Lost Exposures Project

These ageing ribbons,
These silent tales,
Engulfed in a silver sea.

For years I have been hunting and collecting old used film rolls.

Found, sourced and bought from thrift shops, vacant estates and camera collectors, I have collected over 50 exposed undeveloped vintage rolls dating as far back as the 1940s.

In January 2014 I had them shipped to a Canadian photo Lab (Film Rescue International) who specialise in developing obsolete and expired analogue film - salvaging images from even some of the most weathered and damaged rolls. The wait was spellbinding.

The Lost Exposures Project emerges naturally from an ongoing interest in the power of the photographic image, the“art object” and anonymous/abandoned spaces.

More coming soon.
